System Considerations and Integrations
Considering the initiative's goal to develop decision-support software tools that assist in the design, deployment, and operation of Complete Streets, how should applicants address the integration of their proposed solutions with existing planning and mapping platforms widely used by state, local, and tribal transportation agencies? Are there specific tools or platforms that the DOT recommends or requires compatibility with, to facilitate the broad adoption and effective use of the developed tools among practitioners?

The goal of Phase I is to demonstrate the potential of novel data generation and processing methods to produce useful content for proposed Complete Streets analysis capabilities. The U.S. DOT does expect Offerors to build a software solution until Phase II.
Outputs from the tool are expected to be built upon and/or easily interface with existing, widely used planning and mapping platforms and tools; this expectation is intended to facilitate integration with existing data analysis processes, network quality assessments or scoring rubrics for specific modes, and support broad adoption and use of the tool and generated data among practitioners.
