  1. Brake system measurements via inertia

Can some clarification be provided for the sentence "Other mechanisms can be measured by inertia including braking systems and loose wheel carriage assemblies"? It is unclear what inertia based measurements would be used for these items or if there is some predefined inertia measurement procedure for doing this which is being referenced.

What type of trailer is of interest? Box trailer vs. flatbed trailer? It is expected that the loading and dynamics of these would be different from each other.

  4. Is the specific challenge with respect to achieving cost targets, a single device, or spectrum deconfliction?

Many of the technologies for CDA are relatively mature and products are readily available for integration, such as LiDARs & radars for sensing and a variety of communication solutions (e.g. Qualcomm products). What is the particular aspect of the problem that the FHWA is trying to address? Is it that current technologies are too costly, or that communications are too latent, or that spectrum deconfliction is an issue? Is there a cost target that the FHWA thinks is necessary for adoption at scale?

  7. Question re delivery of blood products (including blood type, patient permission or refusal?). Possible suggestion to amend/split SBIR topic

    Hello --

The topic area "Prehospital Post-Crash Care Systems Improvement" makes certain assumptions that present challenges to implementation "in the real world," today.

Specifically, the solicitation calls for "an innovative treatment for bleeding includes damage control resuscitation (DCR) treatments such as the administration of whole blood, blood products (e.g., red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma, platelets, and cryoprecipitate) and adjuvant therapies (e.g., Recombinant activated factor 7 (rFVIIa))."

But in order for such an approach to be safe and effective, agencies need to know certain biological / physiological as well as clinical details about the people who have been involved in…

  9. FT4-Small Transit vehicle vision

Is there a cost target here? There are vision augmentation systems we use in our industry but may be a bit pricey. Also is the focus on more HW/Display or will we need to synthesize imagery?
